New York

New York is one of the most famous cities in the world. The city lies northeast corner of the USA, and it was named New York after the English duke in 1663. There are many people, companies and tourist attractions there, so the city is the center of commerce. For example, Times Square, Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty are famous for symbols of New York. The city is lively round the clock, so some people call it “the city that never sleeps,” and many people visit there from many countries. I think it is one of the reasons why the city flourished. In Addition, there are many professional sports team and famous museums, so the city is the center of not only commerce but also culture.
I think that New York is very attractive city, so I want to visit there someday.

The Amazon River

The Amazon River, which flows through Brazil, is the largest liver in the world by the quantity of water, and its drainage basin is almost as large as Australia. Although some people think the river is the longest in the world, the Nail River is the longest river, so the Amazon is the second longest river.
Above all, the Amazon is famous for many kinds of life that range there. For example, piranhas, pythons and sharks that live in fresh water. Because the river was formed about 5 hundred million years ago, there are fishes that have been changeless since then, and they are sometimes called living fossil. In addition, there are rare plants and birds there, such as carnivorous and birds that prey on monkeys. However, it is said that many kinds of life are not found yet, and many explorers look hard for them.
I want to visit there and see them someday.

The Sahara

The Sahara, which covers most of Northern Africa, is the largest desert in the world, and accordingly it is one of the most famous deserts. However, few plants or animals thrive in the desert, so it is hard for people to live there. In addition, there are many sand dunes, and sandstorm rises frequently.
Five hundred thousand years ago, it was a damp climate there, and people who live there prospered in trade, yet the pace of desertification there is the most rapid in the world now. Regardless of the surroundings, they still have original culture and they are managing well, and furthermore, marathon races and rallies take place there. Then, many people visit there, and it is said that they are all surprised at the vast reach of desert.
Therefore I want to visit there in order to know the present condition.

Pyramids

Today, many people in the world know pyramids. There are many Pyramids in Egypt, and most of them are built between 2600B.C. and 1800B.C. It is said that they are built by the general public in order to bury pharaohs. In addition, These buildings have various kinds of trap and rooms which are hid inside the buildings. The way they built the rooms is not solved yet. Thus, many mysteries are not solved yet. I think this is why pyramids attract many people. Pyramid of Khufu is the most famous pyramid, and its height is the tallest of all pyramids. Many tourists and researchers visit there. Sadly, many thieves also break in and ransack them, because it is said that there are many valuable things. I think pyramids are great buildings, so I want to see them someday.

Easter Island

Easter Island is one of the most isolated inhabited islands, and it is a Polynesian island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean. The first recorded European contact with it was on April 5, 1722, and that day was Easter Day. This is the reason why people call it Easter Island.
The island is rich with cultural interest.-For example, people in the island use original language, which is called Rongorongo. In addition, the island is famous for moai. Now the population of the island is 4000, and the number of moai is1000. There are many kinds of it. In 1995, the island was registered on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. So many people who want to see moai visit there, and the number of them is about 65000 every year. Many researchers also visit there, but there are still many mysteries about the culture.
Because I want to learn the culture and history there, I want to go there sometime.

The Niagara Falls

The Niagara Falls are great waterfalls on the Niagara River, which are straddling the international border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. state of New York. The falls consist of three cascades. Therefore they have a large quantity of water, and the quantity of water is larger than that of any other waterfalls in the world. In addition they take advantage of the large quantity of water to generate electricity. They are also one of the most famous falls in the world, but they are not registered on UNESCO’s World Heritage list yet. I think that they should be registered on it soon.
The first time I looked at the picture of them, I was very surprised at their wonderful sight. They are illuminated at night, and that is wonderful sight too. Of course, there are many tourist attractions around there. Therefore many tourists invade there every year. I want to visit there someday.

Ayers Rock

Ayers Rock is a large sandstone rock formation in Australia. It is the second largest rock in the world.
When I was a child, I looked at photograph of it for the first time. Then I think it mountain, because it is very large. I will never forget the impact.
Ayers Rock is also called “Uluru”. It is a holy place for aborigine. Accordingly there are many wall paintings which were written the spirits and positions of watering places by aborigine there. So this place was registered on UNESCO’s World Heritage list in 1987, and many people visit there every year. In addition if the weather is nice, you can look at beautiful scene there at sunrise and sunset.
Thus, Ayers Rock is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the world.
I am interested in its grand appearance and history very much. So I want to go there someday. (151)
